The Mr. E. Professor Theme

THE MR. E. PROFESSOR is a fictional character in the Adventures of Rel Rel universe. He is based on Doctor Who, specifically the 10th Doctor. Mr. E. Professor is also Rel’s favorite show and character. She makes references to Mr. E Professor throughout the story.

I AM A HUGE FAN OF DOCTOR WHO. I started watching the 4th Doctor as a kid and got back into the show around 2010 when the 11th Doctor and “The Pandorica Opens” first aired. Naturally, I added this into my world. I think it’s fun when you create fictional versions of real-world shows or places to fit into a fictional narrative, like when a show uses its version of McDonald’s or Mickey Mouse.

THE MR. E. PROFESSOR THEME SONG is something I wrote because I thought it’d be fun to create an intro for the show that Rel Rel loves to watch. I started messing around with Suno and went through several iterations before settling on the final version. And I have to say that I am very happy with the results!

THE MAIN IDEA OF THE SONG, of course, follows the Doctor’s origin lore. The Mr. E. Professor’s home was destroyed in a moment of war; he’s the last of his kind, and there is a mortal enemy that destroyed his homeworld. My story revolves heavily around wishes and the concept of wishes coming true. At the time, I was creating two new Muse types (The Authors and Designers) for future books that deal with wish-granting and dying wishes. This idea bled into my writing of the lyrics for The Mr. E. Professor Theme.

THE NAMES IN THE MR. E. PROFESSOR are based on the creatures from Doctor Who. The Moment Monarchs are based on the Time Lords. The Dolls of Ithalack and the planet Scarey Oh are based on the Daleks (cause they’re the dolls that lack, the doll lacks) and the planet Skaro! The Moment War and the Time War, and the S.T.A.R. (which stands for Search The Ambitious Requests), and the Tardis. Mallyvrey is based on Gallifrey.

Oh, and I had the Mr. E. Professor’s S.T.A.R. initially turn into a blue Public Call Box, before malfunctioning and getting stuck as a telephone booth. This is a reference to Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure.

I ALSO THOUGHT IT WAS A COOL IDEA that the lore from my story is told through a fictional show. The idea is there, just as a throwaway song, for a TV show in Rel’s world, that will eventually tie to the Author Muses and Designer Muses. The Authors capable of granting wishes, and the Designers deal with dying wishes. I had a lot of fun with it! And I created the Corona Crowns, which actually grant the wishes.

SO IT WAS MY LOVE FOR DOCTOR WHO and a new concept for Muses that fueled my lyrics for the Mr. E. Professor. Theme. And if you haven’t noticed already, my social media handles are based on the Mr. E. Professor! It was originally Puppet E Professor. But that was too long for social media platforms, so I shortened it to PuppetEProf. I have even messed around with the idea that the Mr. E. Professor’s real name is Puppet. But there is already a “Puppet” in the lore of Adventures of Rel Rel. I don’t know. I may or may not add that lore to the story.

A visitor from a distant world,
The planet known as Mallyvray.
And his people, the Moment Monarchs.

They were masters of space,
The lords of time immemorial,
Capable of traversing the stars,
And riding the streams of galaxies.

The Mr E. Professor, traveler, explorer,
Alone, he rides in his mysterious STAR,
Which stands for Search The Ambitious Requests,
A vehicle that warps through space.

[Verse 3]
The Moment Monarchs granted wishes,
Traveled the galaxy to find the hopeful,
Using their STAR to blend in and disguise,
So that they could grant the heart’s desire.

[Verse 4]
With the power of their Corona Crowns,
They could manifest the greatest aspiration,
STARs morphing into their surroundings,
To blend into the world they traveled to.

[Bridge]
And so it was for eons. The Moment Monarchs granted wishes. Exploring, blending in, and leaving. Like wish-granting phantoms.

Once upon a time, the Dolls of Ithalack appeared: Reapers of time and space and devourers of dying wishes. In a Moment of War, they wiped out the Moment Monarchs.

The Mr E. Professor, traveler, explorer,
Alone, he rides in his mysterious STAR,
Which stands for Search The Ambitious Requests,
A vehicle that warps through space.

[Outro]
And in his terror, as his world collapsed and burned, the Mr. E. Professor fled the planet Mallyvray. He fell onto an unknown planet. His STAR turned into a blue Public Call Box before it glitched, malfunctioned, and got stuck as a Telephone Booth.

Alone, last of his kind, he uses his Corona Crown to carry on his people’s work. A mystery. A professor only in name. Last of the Moment Monarchs.
